Dental Technology
CEREC 3D
Our computer-controlled CEREC 3D System allows us to create a crown in one visit. This computer technology replaces the need to have a laboratory make the crown, which can take over a week.
Using CEREC 3D requires preparation of the natural tooth and scanning it with an electronic camera. The porcelain crown is then designed from the scan and created from a solid ceramic block. The precision of CEREC 3D allows the crown to be bonded to the tooth immediately. With this technology we can replace worn or discolored metal crowns or repair a broken tooth in one visit.
DIAGNOdent
DIAGNOdent is one of our newest technologies. It is a small harmless laser instrument used to scan your teeth to find the smallest amount of decay. Finding decay in its earliest stage allows us to prevent later problems that could result in more extensive dental procedures.
Air-Abrasion
Air-abrasion is a technology we now use that has replaced most uses of the conventional drill. Instead of experiencing noise, vibrations, and heat associated with the drill, patients can now be more relaxed while we prepare a surface for treatment.
This comfortable tool uses a pressurized stream of alumina oxide powder. Air-abrasion hasn’t completely replaced the drill, but it can be used to prepare the surface of a damaged tooth for composite fillings, porcelain crowns, and veneers. Once you experience the use of air-abrasion, you won’t want to go back to the drill.
Digital X-Rays
The team at Advanced Dental Arts uses Computerized Digital Radiography(CDR) to take digital x-rays. CDR is safer than traditional film x-rays because it uses about 90% less radiation. Digital x-rays provide our patients with the level of care they expect and deserve. As technology leaps forward, Advanced Dental Arts will strive to stay in front.
Intraoral Camera Exams
Dr. Jacob and Dr. Abells has increased their diagnostic capabilities through the use of the intraoral camera. This pen-sized camera magnifies the appearance of your teeth and allows you and the team at Advanced Dental Arts to view your teeth on a television screen. Using the intraoral camera allows Dr. Jacob and Dr. Abells to see smaller cracks and decay that would have gone unnoticed using previous examination techniques.
Microscope
In pursuit of optimum health, Dr. Jacob and Dr. Abells employ a specialized microscope to diagnose and treat dental concerns. Under magnification, small amounts of decay, tiny cracks and other flaws can be detected and eliminated with ease. Working with this advanced technology, The dental team at Advanced Dental Arts is able to provide precise treatment, which translates to longer lasting dental restorations and possibly less dental treatment in the future. Our patients appreciate that!
